USN RAINBOW CLASSIC 2010

The USN Rainbow Classic, what a show! After having had such a successful opening USN Millennium show, we did not expect to even be able to match never mind better a show that wowed the country, and better it we did!
The USN Rainbow Classic, held on a bitterly cold night still drew 174 athletes and 745 roaring spectators. The athletes were of a very high standard which once again put the pressure back on the Judges who had a night of very tight and competitive judging as the line ups of all divisions were long and required elimination rounds to bring about the final top six of the respective divisions.
The USN Rainbow Classic brought back to the stage some top class athletes who had taken time out for recovery for a year or two and we saw the likes Johann Boshoff who is in world class condition and the return of the 2008 World Junior Champion Freddie Klopper, who let me tell you is no longer a junior but a worthy winner of the Super Heavy weight division and who only just lost out to Johan Boschoff in a tightly contested Overall Division.
Our Future champions, the U/16 division had a line-up of over fifteen athletes, all well conditioned, filled with the spirit of youth and did not fail to put up a good performance that never ceases to involve the spectators whose heart warm to the efforts of the young men. The improvement of now U/18 Ivan Paulin who graduated from U/16 last year was amazing to say the least. The muscle size packed on in one year is an example to the youngsters that if they take this seriously anything can be achieved. Congratulations to all the men’s divisions that were so tightly contested and saw some outstanding crowned champions of the night special mention goes to the O/40 winner who was absolutely outstanding.
The Ladies divisions once again stunned the house. Once we had got back our breaths the crowd participation in support for these lovely ladies truly lifted the roof. Special mention goes to Leonie Van Jaarsveld of the Performance Figure Division for presenting herself in such a professional manner; you truly were stunning on the night.
It has been decided by WFF/WBBF President, Tommy Du Rand that in future the USN Rainbow Classic will become a pre-judged show due to the continual high volume of entrants experienced at each show. Well done to you the athletes for this.
